Montereau is currently seeking full-time Cooks to work the evening shift. |
Duties: |
The cook is responsible for preparing high quality and proper portioned meals & food items for residents & guests in accordance with production sheets, standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion control, time schedules and sanitary standards as well as serving procedures. Reports to the Sous Chef in the absence of the Executive Chef.
These positions must be able to work evenings and weekends. |
Qualifications: |
•Previous fine dining experience preferred for some positions.
•Previous commercial cooking experience or formal culinary training strongly preferred for all positions.
•Must know how to operate kitchen equipment and use utensils.
•High school graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
•Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions and be able to do basic math calculations needed in recipe & production requirements.
•Ability to follow diet instructions & menus, know basic methods of preparing food in quantities, and familiar with seasoning requirements.
•Good customer service and teamwork skills and abilities.
•Must be able to stand and walk short distances for long periods of time.
•Requires bending at knees, twisting from side to side at the waist, reaching above and below shoulder height.
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height, 35 lbs to shoulder height, and carry 25 lbs for a short distance.
•The kitchen environment is subject to noise, interruptions and distractions and requires the ability to concentrate and handle a multitude of tasks.
•This position requires the advanced applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary for handling of basic kitchen equipment.
•Must be flexible and open to change; must be willing and able to work overtime and/or rotating hours or shifts to provide appropriate coverage for resident needs.
